Jenn Wasner

JENN WASNER is one of the founding members of the band Wye Oak, from Baltimore, Maryland. Along with her friend Andy Stack, they have performed on tour with notable bands such as The National and The Decemberists. Wasner has completed numerous other music projects as well, including a solo project entitled Flock of Dimes, and a collaboration called Dungeonesse with Jon Ehrens of White Life and Art Department.

Composer and New Amsterdam Records co-founder/co-artistic director William Brittelle's new digital-only single, "Dream Has No Sacrifice" features Wasner and has been praised as "unlike any single we've heard...the song achieves a strange kind of magic, in part for being so unusual a creation" by Textura. Brittelle and Wasner have collaborated in the past on Spiritual America, an ongoing series of electro-acoustic orchestral art songs featuring works that Brittelle is writing for Wye Oak and orchestra. Pieces from the project have been performed with the Alabama Symphony, The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's Liquid Music Series at the Walker Art Center, and The Baltimore Symphony.
