Finnegan Shanahan

Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and raised in Rhinebeck, NY, FINNEGAN SHANAHAN is a Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist, composers, and founding member of new music ensemble Contemporaneous. A classically-trained violinist and violist, Shanahan draws on his experience with improvisation, experimental music, and folk singing. Shanahan also performs with Contemporaneous as a vocalist, notably as the tenor soloist in Donnacha Dennehy's Grá Agus Bás, originally written for Dublin's Crash Ensemble and sean-nos folk singer Iarla Ó Lionáird.
