Michi Wiancko's Planetary Candidate for Solo Violin

Violinist and composer Michi Wiancko's Planetary Candidate is out today. Featuring new compositions for four or five string acoustic + electro-acoustic violin by Wiancko herself - "an alluring soloist with heightened expressive and violinistic gifts” (Gramophone Magazine) - plus composers Christopher Adler, Paula Matthusen, Mark Dancigers, Jessie Montgomery and William Brittelle. This project documents her journey as a violinist allowing her to “manifest and passionately inhabit a multitude of musical worlds.”


Mass for the Endangered from Sarah Kirkland Snider

Composer Sarah Kirkland Snider’s Mass for the Endangered, out next week as a co-release with Nonesuch, is a celebration of, and an elegy for, the natural world—animals, plants, insects, the planet itself—an appeal for greater awareness, urgency, and action. Originally commissioned by Trinity Church Wall Street, this recording features the English vocal ensemble Gallicantus conducted by Gabriel Crouch with a libretto written by Nathaniel Bellows.
